ASL Yard Sale

I wasn't able to compete on Saturday, so Summer came and got me to go to the Yard Sale. This was a yard sale to raise money for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing Office in Southern Utah. My ASL class was sponsoring it. I gave all our old clothes to sale and a dresser for a little girl which sold very fast! Sense I had come from the debate tournament I was wearing a dress with high heels, and it was freezing outside! So I took a BYU jack, put it on, a blanket, and some long bright blue socks on. I looked amazing! After the yard sale was over I was surprised no one took this skirt- so I stole it! I wore it today to church and dressed it up with my moms old belt from high school and my cousin Mackenzie's old light yellow shirt. Just because they're hand-me-downs doesn't mean you can't look cute in it!

Debate Tournament

When you show up to a debate tournament dressed in the same color, and your not partners: it leads to being embarrassed. On Friday and Saturday I competed in a Debate Tournament at Dixie High School! Friday I had an oration on American Sign Language (an oration/oratory is where you stand up and give a speech to inform people.) I was pretty sure I did good, and wouldn't be able to find out until Saturday at the award ceremony. Saturday morning I was to compete in PF (Public Form where you and your partner go against two other people; our topic this year was to be aff or neg on keeping the Electoral College- you didn't know if you were doing aff or neg tell you got there) Showing up I was very nervous- tell my partner never showed! I had to drop out of the tournament because my partner decided to up and not show. Later that night I still went to the awards meeting where I found out I placed FOURTH!!!!!!! I was so happy! I made finals on my oratory! My school also placed first all together! GO DESERT HILLS DEBATE TEAM!!

Color Guard

After having such a morning knowing that you were excused for school all Friday, we thought it couldn't go any better! Heading to the competition was a blast! Going from left to right we have our coach Kassie, Ritta, Dominique, Ashlin (C) , Jessica (C) , Becky (C), Summer, Me, and our new coach Megan! When tied for first last year; and were so excited to find out we were rewarded FIRST PLACE! this year! no tie! Our band did so great and had a lot of first places also! Now that parade is over- we are practicing each day for winter guard! and are excited to keep up that first place! (HOPEFULLY!)

Sadies

I HAD A BLAST AT SADIES! MY GROUP GOT ALONG SO WELL, AND WE ALL HAD FUN. OF COURSE THERE WAS ONE PARTY POOPER- BUT IT WAS STILL FUN! FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT IT GOES ME, JAMES, FORREST, DOMINIQUE, BEAU, MALLORY, KENADEE, CHIPPER, BRYANNA, AND SIL. (YES ALL THE GUYS TO HAVE FUNNY NAMES).

ALL OF THE GIRLS ARE FROM THE ST. JAMES WARD! TWO OF THE GIRLS ALSO ASKED GUYS FROM OUR WARD TOO.! MY PARENTS TOOK THESE PHOTOS FOR US, AND ALL OF THEM TURNED OUT SO WELL! BEFORE GOING TO THE PETROGLYFS WE WENT TO THE RODEO TO WATCH SIL PERFORM. THAN AFTER THIS WE TOOK THE BOYS HOME, (EXCEPT MY DATE STAYED AT MY HOUSE BECAUSE HE LIVED SO FAR OUT- MY DAD AND HIM GOT ALONG REALLY WELL, JAMES EVEN LEARNED HOW TO MAKE DOUCHE OVEN POTATO'S)! AFTER WE HAD THE MOST AMAZING DINNER AT MALLORYS; AND DESERT WAS FANTASTIC! KENADEE'S MOM MADE A COOKIE WITH ICE CREAM FUDGE AND CARMEL ON THE TOP- THOUGH JAMES AND I PUT MORE ON EACH OTHER THAN WE ACTUALLY ATE, IT WAS SO FUN! THAN TO THE DANCE WE WENT!

Classic Dinner and a Show

My best friend Josh and I went on a classic date Friday Night. I don't have many pictures of him but this is what I got. (: We were planning on going to Panda for dinner, but due to the large line we decided against it. Instead, we went to a near-by pizza place; there pizza slices were HUGE! Very greasy and super thin, but they were still really good. After we went to the movie (Josh let me choose: what a gentleman) so I decided on Footloose! We got our pop corn, but I was so stuffed from the pizza I didn't eat any; and went into our movie. The movie theater was jammed pack! But luckily we found a top seat (I hate sitting down on the bottom)! The movie was great! I loved it just as much as the first one: but Ren's best friend in the movie was still my favorite character! One of the girls on the movie was even wearing the same boots as I had on! After the movie we got lost trying to find his car (I know we're both blonde's). I was shaking the entire way to his car, and as soon as he asked if I wanted to go get ice cream I responded with a quick "no". So he just took me home. The whole date was a blast, other than the weather. (thank heavens for thick jackets!) Josh is a great guy; him and I have been great friends for a long time: and I plan on keeping it that way.

Kindness

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says that Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons. One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day. On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.
Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend. Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.
The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall.
Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus. A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced. Dr. Smith said only these words... "In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me." Matthew 25:40. No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.

Remember When

Remember When

My mom had an idea to clean out her closet today (and I mean literally, not some eminem version) I also figured I might want to check mine out; I knew there would be some dumb book I have already read up there and I could just give it to my ASL or Color Guard fundraisers. I was considering stealing all my mom's old clothes from her closet and donating them to these yard sales, so I had my mind set on finding something of mine too (so it wouldn't be all my mom's belongings). Than pulling on one thing above my closet, I had an outcome of 4 books falling smack on my face. When I went to put the books back I found my Pooh. (Not poo- I mean Winnie the Pooh: you know the big gold teddy bear that's always looking for honey?) I carried around this blamee for YEARS! It went everywhere with me!

In each corner of this blanket it is torn,
from when I tripped over it.
Every seam is coming undone,
from using it as a pillow,
a picnic seat,
for each fort I made with my brothers in the living room.
All the color has faded,
from every time I rubbed it against my cheek for comfort.
And each time my parents tried to take it away from me,
just to put it in the wash,
I thought my whole world was over.

It's the small things in life that matter.
It's that blanket that you call your blamee.
It's the memory that will stay in your heart forever.

Remember When...

Family

The way we all communicate now of days, always through technology.
You know what they say: a picture is worth a hundred words (i think this picture speaks for itself)

and yes, grandma also has her phone in her hand (she just happened to look up when i took the photo)
love you girls! (: but look up!

Crazy Dreams

"Just being who you really are, don't forget the small but important things in life, and shooting for what you want: no matter what the caust is: is the best advice you can give a teenager."

Hello, you long shots, you dark-horse runners
Hairbrust singers, dashboard drummers
Hello, you wild magnolias just waiting to bloom

There's a little bit of all that inside of me and you
Thank God even crazy dreams come true

I've stood at the bottom of some walls
I thought I couldn't climb
I felt like Cinderella at the ball
Just running out of time
So I know how it feels to be afraid
And think that it's all gone and slip away
Hold on
Hold on

Here's to you free souls, you firefly chasers
Street climbers, porch swingers, air-guitar players
Here's to you fearless dancers shaking walls in your bedroom
There's a lot of wonder left inside of me and you

Thank God even crazy dreams come true

Never let a bad day be enough
To go and talk you into giving up
Sometimes everybody feels like you
Oh, feels like you
Just like you

I've met some go-getters, some difference makers
Some-town heroes and big-chance takers
I've met some young hearts with something to prove
Oh yeah

Here's to you long shots, you dark-horse runners
Hairbrush singers and dashboard drummers
Here's to you wild magnolias just waiting to bloom
There's a little bit of all that inside of me and you
Thank God even crazy dreams come true
Thank God even crazy dreams come true!

Auntie

"Who ever knew the love of your life would be chubby and bald?"
Mya and Miles have given me the gift of being an Aunt, and for Macey and Shelbie to be mothers and aunts! My who family treasures these babies like their angels, well lets face it: they are!

Cousins

The two cutest kids you ever could find, one is your's (Shelbie's) and other is mine (Macey's).
My niece, Mya, and nephew, Miles met this past weekend at their cousin, Daven's, baby shower. Mya and Miles weigh the same! But.... they are 7 months apart. Though Mya is a small baby she towered over Miles and crawled all over him like a new jungle gym; he handled it like a sport! This was also Miles' first time around another baby! They were so cute together, I can't wait tell they get to meet again in December. They are growing too much, Miles just learned to hold his head up and giggle; while Mya can crawl, and now has tones of teeth.
Aren't they just the most adorable babies you've ever seen?

Good to Better

Who doesn't love caramel apples?? Everyone does of course!
WELL.. why no make it even better?

When Macey came to visit she made these AMAZING APPLES!! Filled the inside with nuts and brown sugar, and a few other goods I can't remember and just baked them. They where so soft; who ever knew apples could melt in your mouth? They were so hot that with just two scopes of vanilla ice cream (and caramel of course) they were as good as they could get!

I'm ready for it to be winter

In the Summertime you
are considered crazy to be singing those Christmas songs; in the wintertime it's only natural to have that Christmas spirit with you. When winter comes around we think of hot chocolate, snow boarding, and sitting next to that old wooden fire place, cuddled in our blamees that our sister gave to us on our 15th birthday. We care for each other and remember our brother, Jesus. I'M READY FOR IT TO BE WINTER AGAIN! I'm ready to sing every version of jingle bell rock, act like a child with frosty the snow man, I'm ready to shout to winter wonderland, and go crazy with deck the halls, Well why not everyone's favorite: Where are you Christmas, or my personal favorite: Mary did you know? and come on kids who didn't love going to school in the winter for that one assembly day when your teenage choir girls sang Santa Baby to your Principal?

The Scarlet (Boring) Letter

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE BORED AND CANNOT STAY AWAKE, BECAUSE YOU ARE READING THE MOST BORING/CONFUSING BOOK EVER:

MOM: "BAILEY ARE YOU READING?"
